Ar. Sabeena Khanna is a highly accomplished architect and the Creative Head of Studio KIA, a globally recognized design firm based in Gurugram. With over 35 years of experience, she leads her team with vision and a deep understanding of architectural design.
A recipient of the prestigious Le Corbusier Gold Medal from Chandigarh College of Architecture in 1987, where she topped her university, Ar. Khanna began her career working on the Master Planning of PGI, Chandigarh. Her architectural lineage is noteworthy, with her father, V.N. Shah, having served as Chief Architect for Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
Ar. Sabeena Khanna is a Fellow member of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) and an Associate member of the Institute of Interior Designers (IIID). She is frequently invited to be on the juries of esteemed architectural awards and has authored numerous articles and papers on architecture for leading publications. Her design philosophy is encapsulated by Leonardo Da Vinci’s quote, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication,” and her work reflects a commitment to creating meaningful, functional, and aesthetically strong spaces.
Under her leadership, Studio KIA has undertaken a diverse portfolio of projects across infrastructure development, mixed-use planning, residential, commercial, and institutional sectors, both nationally and internationally. The studio is known for delivering designs that are unique to their site and purpose, emphasizing spatial character, efficient planning, and sustainable practices. Her contributions have garnered numerous accolades, including the ICI-Ultratech Awards for Outstanding Concrete Structure. Ar. Sabeena Khanna actively participates in professional and women’s forums, advocating for “Building Tomorrow” – an initiative to mentor, inspire, and encourage young talent in the architectural field.
