Few Quick point to remember while filling up the forms:

Keep all the following documents handy:

  1. Project Description and Green Point’s if applying for the Green Architecture Awards.
  2. Personal Documents - Passport size photograph and stamp & sign image.
  3. Education Documents - Professional Degree, CoA or other relevant Certificate.
  4. Professional Documents - One page Bio Data, Proof of Proprietorship/project Drawings ownership
  5. Project Documents - Project Completion Certificate (Shall mention month & Year of Completion)
  6. Design Drawings - 3 X 6 Design panel or the plans, elevations, sections and photographs.

    Please note, By submitting your designs in a 3x6 design panel, you can effectively showcase your presentation skills and increase your chances of standing out in the competition. You can check out the winners designs panels on the events page for the inspirations.

  7. Optional Documents like Proof of Stay for State Award and Proof of Birth for Young Architect’s Award (can be Passport/Aadhar Card)

  1. Architect having made a Lifetime outstanding contribution in the field of architecture.
  2. Open to architects from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Kenya, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal, Seychelles, Sri Lanka,Tanzania & Uganda
  3. The award is by Nomination Only.
  4. Should have completed 60 years age by, 2023 (Born 1963 or before)
  5. Whose designs have produced nationally & / or internationally known structures.
  6. Who has contributed to
    • Conservation of environment
    • Upliftment of architectural education.
    • Improvement of Architecture Acts.
  7. Who has written books & articles related to architecture.
  8. Who has already got awards & National / International recognition.
  9. Previous winner of Great Master's Award or Chairman's Award under JK AYA instituted by JK Cement Ltd. is not eligible for nomination.

Documents Required

  1. Adequate supporting documentation, profile of achievement & award, drawings & photographs of any five prestigious projects done.
  2. Contribution to international seminars.
  3. Authoring of books if any & such other information shall be sent along with the entry form.
  4. Documents sent could be photo copies.
  5. In case original documentation needs to be sent, mention shall be made of the same in entry form.
  6. Original documentation shall be returned back after Completion of Jury.
  7. Power Point Presentation showing your Lifetime contribution (Duration between 20 to 30 minutes) shall be sent as Pen Drive/ Google Drive/ Wetransfer.

Few Quick point to remember while filling up the forms:

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The process of selecting ONE winner at National Level is carried out jointly with COA-TRC, Council of Architecture, Training and Research Centre (Academic Wing of COA).
  2. For this award all Architecture institutions in India are grouped into 5 zones at national Level by COATRC.
  3. For a particular zone, each institute falling in that zone, is invited to nominate 2 students of Final Year to submit their project thesis.
  4. The jury is conducted in 2 stages - Zonal & National.
  5. During the zonal jury 2 best entries are selected from the zone by a jury comprising 3 professional architects.
  6. The national jury thus has a total 10 participant entries.
  7. Zonal & national Jury are held at different locations every year.
  8. National jury is held in an important town where one "JK Architecture
  9. Student of the Year" is selected for JK AVA by the jury, composed of 3 eminent architects.

Special Notes

  1. For submitting project, students of final year shall follow instruction on institute notice board, put up by COA-TRC.
  2. Application / project shall not be sent to JK AYA Award secretariat, C/ o JK Cement Ltd.; but shall be dealt with as per circular on their institute notice board.

Frequently Asked Questions

 Participation for the JK AYA starts on January 1st and you can apply anytime till June 30th.

You can apply for the Awards from our website aya.jkcement.com. To simplify the participation process, we have recently updated our forms and also added short guided videos for all the forms A, B & C that we believe will help the participants . If you still find any trouble you can connect with us through the contact us page.

There is no fee for Application for the Awards. These awards were started to appreciate the Architects and inspire the young generation and since its inception in 1990, there has not been any fees

JK Architect of the Year Awards was the brainchild of our former MD Late Shri Yadupati Singhania ji of JK Cement Ltd.. Since the inception the JKCement has been the sole sponsor and organizer of these awards and any activities related to the events. JK Cement Ltd. does not ask or force anyone about using any of the products at the events.

We currently accept entries in the following categories: Private Residence (PR), Public Building (PB), Group Housing (GH), Revolving Category (changes annually), Green Architecture (GA), Foreign Countries (FC).

Foreign participants can submit projects in any category. The Revolving Category is updated each year based on suggestions from jury members and the architectural community. You can find details on the latest Revolving Category in the Code of Participation.

JK AYA does not disqualify participants for missing documents. If any required document is omitted during submission, JK AYA, in consultation with the appointed Professional Advisor for that year, will send at least two reminder emails requesting the missing document.

We understand that design files can sometimes exceed the current upload limits. In such cases, we send an email requesting the applicant to provide the design in the best possible resolution, ensuring it can be properly presented to the jury and evaluated fairly.
